Question 4 passes in Somerville and Cambridge districts !!
SDP Press Statement (pdf)
Good News Folks !
62 % of people voting in Somerville and 73 % of people voting in
Cambridge casts YES votes on Question 4.
Cambridge, MA is the home of leading colleges MIT and Harvard.
Here are the unofficial results for in each state representative district
which represents a large fraction of the population of each city.
Unofficial results:
Somerville, MA: 62% of Voters for YES
YES 9100 NO: 5542
Cambridge, MA: 73 % of Voters for YES
YES 9637 NO: 3650
These results come after the pro-apartheid side attempted legal maneuvers
to block the question from being on the ballot (failing in September), and
over the opposition of mayor, all local elected officials in Somerville
and a main newspaper in Somerville. The mayor of Somerville, two years ago,
went on a trip to Isreal sponsored by the pro-apartheid government of Isreal.
In 2006, 45% of Somerville voters supported the Palestinian peoples' Right of Return
- a fundamental human right, despite the opposition from the pro-apartheid governor,
congressman and mayor... all of whom opposed the fundamental human right of return.

APARTHEID IN ISRAEL: CBS 60 Minutes News show tells like it is in "Is Peace Out of Reach?",
a segment from the Jan. 25, 2009 episode of 60 Minutes.
This piece marks the first time that a mainstream U.S. media outlet has dared to accurately
portray what Israeli occupation and settlement mean for Palestinians living in the West Bank
and to explain to the American public why this system is apartheid.

Text of Ballot Question 4:
Shall the State Representative from this district be instructed to vote in
favor of a nonbinding resolution calling on the federal government to
support the right of all people, including non-Jewish Palestinian citizens
of Israel, to live free from laws that give more rights to people of one
religion than another.

YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK

Did you know Israel has made of Gaza a giant prison that is
under siege
where the Palestinians are being
starved?
The U.S. provides Israel with the money and military financing
that makes occupation and genocide possible. The U.S. gives Israel annually between $6 - 10 billion.
The Israeli annual national budget is about $40 billion. Because of access to American
technology and financial support:
- Israel is the world's fourth largest nuclear power.
- Israel is the 16th wealthiest nation in the world.
- Israel has the world's sixth largest military.
- Israel has become the third largest arms producer in the world.
- Israel has national health insurance.
- Israel has third best newborn survival rate (U.S.'s is second worst) of modern world.

"The American taxpayer contributes one third of its foreign aid budget to the 16th
wealthiest nation on the planet, with a population that represents .001% of the
world's population, supporting in the process the resettlement of thousands of
immigrants from foreign lands to Israel, a foreign country, where they can reside
in [subsidized] luxury town homes with lush grounds and pools, while our New Orleans residents,
the majority classified African-American and living below the poverty line, remain
scattered throughout the country unable to return to their homes." -
